Wordle i s becoming a physical board game, and fans of the digital version can purchase it beginning in October.

Hasbro, Inc. and Wordle's owner, the New York Times, announced the development Thursday.

Hasbro is well known for such games as Monopoly, Jenga, Operation, Clue, Connect Four, and more.

"Inspired by the popular digital version from New York Times Games, Wordle: The Party Game is a brand-new product that delivers classic Wordle gameplay, but now in an all new way that is perfect for game night with friends and family," wrote the New York Times.

“Since Wordle burst onto the scene, it’s undoubtedly been a staple in social and pop culture vocabulary,” Adam Biehl, senior vice president and general manager of Hasbro Gaming, explained. “We’re beyond thrilled to work with New York Times Games to bring our gaming worlds together and extend Wordle in new ways.”

"Wordle truly brought us all together and that’s what makes it so special," added Jonathan Knight, head of games for the New York Times.

Despite not launching until the fall, gamers can preorder today.

Wordle, which gives users six chances to guess a new five-letter word every day, was originally created by Welsh engineer Josh Wardle. He initially made it for his family's enjoyment but eventually released it to the public in October 2021 — and the rest is history. Wordle took the internet by storm, captivating social media users who began playing daily.

The New York Times recognized the stranglehold the word game had on the public and acquired it at the beginning of 2022.
